Highland Realm is a place to restore balance, relieve pain, reduce stress, release emotional baggage, and recover energy.
Under the direction of Dr. Deanna J. Naddy, RN, DSN, Highland Realm provides multiple healing therapies in a beautiful wooded setting. Therapies include Bowen Therapy, sound therapy, health teaching and counseling.
Guests and clients also can hike on our nature trails, do a walking meditation and experience the energies of the woods. Combined with one or more healing modalities, time here renews the Spirit and refreshes the body.
Prior to retirement in 1999, I was Associate Dean for Nursing and Allied Heath at Columbia State Community College. I have studied numerous alternative healing modalities that complement my traditional training. I love creating a safe comfortable environment so that others can be more stress free. I get excited when I can share the health benefits of essential oils and other modalities that I have discovered. I am passionate about my mission as a health educator and I love to help people who are open to find solutions to their health!
One of the ways I am most passionate about health is through using essential oils. As a wellness advocate for doTERRA Essential Oils, I inspire and educate others and offer natural solutions for health and wellness issues.
Non-invasive Bowen Therapy relieves all types of pain and is so gentle that it can be used on everyone – from newborn infants to the elderly. Because it is a gentle, hands-on technique, Bowen Therapy can relieve day-to-day stress and enhance overall wellness.
Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.
If you have ever enjoyed the scent of a rose, you’ve experienced the aromatic qualities of essential oils. These naturally occurring, volatile aromatic compounds are found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants. In addition to their intrinsic benefits to plants and their beautiful fragrance, essential oils have long been used for food preparation, beauty treatment, and health-care practices.
I believe in the value of essential oils to help you become your most vibrant self. I offer workshops regularly to help people learn about the benefits of essential oils and apply them to their lives.

A series of simple, gentle moves across muscle and connective tissue prompt the body to reset imbalances and heal from injuries and even long-standing complaints, promoting pain relief and energy recovery.
Thomas A. Bowen (1903-1982), who gained a reputation for being able to help his co-workers with their aches and pains, developed the technique in Australia. Because he was able to help so many people, he opened a full-time clinic using his method of muscle manipulations. By 1975 he was seeing 13,000 patients per year.
This technique has broad therapeutic applications. It is used to help clients overcome sports injuries, accidents and other ailments such as tennis elbow, sprained ankles, strained backs, torn hamstrings, asthma, fibromyalgia, TMJ, frozen shoulder and carpal tunnel syndrome. It also is very effective in improving rehabilitation time, regardless of how old or how recent the injury.
We also use Bowen Therapy to:
Assist patients with chronic illnesses or disabilities
Assist in the release fear and emotional stress
Support pre- and post-natal care
Prompt the body to reset imbalances
Bring autonomic nervous system into balance
Bowen Therapy is administered with the client lying on a massage table.
